About Jeanie

Jeanie Belle Jacobsen (葉海藍) is a spiritually inspired abstract artist from the vibrant coastal city of Hong Kong. Her paintings are deeply mystical, luminous, and fluid, created in a meditative trance guided by intuitive nudges of the heart. Through her art, Jeanie strives to inspire catharsis, introspection, self-actualization, and compassion in others. The Hong Kong Museum of Art gift store currently features printed merchandise of her personal art brand. She is also an official fifth-generation successor of the painting master Qi Baishi (齊白石第五代傳人).
Jeanie began taking art classes at four years old, won first place in a Hong Kong-wide children’s drawing competition at six, and attended various fine art programs with Swiss Art Studio, Savannah College of Art and Design, and the Florence University of Arts as she grew up. She later earned full marks in her International Baccalaureate Higher Level Visual Arts course, along with an art scholarship from her high school.
During her teenage years, Jeanie started experiencing inexplicable synchronicities, past-life visions, vivid dreams, and lucid dreams, sparking a deep interest in the metaphysical and spiritual. This led her to explore existential and metaphysical questions about life after death, identity, good versus evil, cosmology, and transcendence. As a result, she temporarily stepped away from her long-standing passion for art and pursued a philosophy degree at University College London. In 2020, amidst a period of depression and loneliness, Jeanie underwent a spiritual awakening during meditation. In a completely darkened room, she saw an overwhelmingly bright orange light behind her eyelids and felt a soothing warmth envelop her heart, accompanied by a clear vision of an angelic embrace around her back. This transformative experience ignited her commitment to balancing mental, physiological, and spiritual health while nurturing her relationship with the Divine.
After completing her university degree, Jeanie returned to art with a renewed approach—treating her creative practice as an intuitively led, feeling-driven process. For Jeanie, art became a way to deepen her connection with intuition and spirit. She now channels that same spark of transcendental light and warmth she felt in that dark room into her work, offering reminders of hope and the loving, mystical forces that surround us. Each painting is a prayer for humanity to overcome the darkness within and outside ourselves, guiding us toward greater healing, harmony, and wholeness.
